Abstain and enjoy.

We're all very excited in the aftermath of Nintendo's bite-sized reveal of the hybrid console Nintendo Switch. However it looks like not everyone's convinced as Nintendo's shares dropped mildly after the features failed to impress some tougher investors.

Despite its 3.3% rise in the lead up to the Switch's reveal, shares slipped by 6% on Friday morning, leaving a bit of an elephant in its wake. The biggest question on everyone's minds at the moment is whether Nintendo can make the Switch a success after the poorly-received Wii U crashed out.

A report by the Financial Times today brought about an important point from the mouth of Serkan Toto, a games industry consultant about the potential price and audience of the console. "They must find a way to release the Switch at US$299 to stand a chance, that's the threshold. It's not impossible by offering the device in multiple versions. Who else but diehard Nintendo fans will buy the Switch?"

Where the Wii U seemed to be aimed at children in its reveal in 2011, the Nintendo Switch was played by adults/young adults in its trailer – possibly attempting to appeal to gamers from the late 80s/early 90s who grew up with the Game Boy and SNES, etc.

Another quite surprising factor is that Nintendo is opening its doors slightly wider and partnering with a variety of different publishers/developers. Whilst that's great news all around, it also brings a whole new issue into the ring – how will the Switch be any different/more desirable to the general market than the PS4/Pro, PC, and other platform gamers.

Of course, with Nintendo being Nintendo they're not in trouble yet. Thanks to a huge 50% rise in shares from Pokemon GO (hah) earlier this year, they've got a little bit of wriggle room, especially with their new entrance into the mobile game market. Let's just hope they've really thought this one through come March 2017.

The Bonfire 2: Uncharted Shores is an upcoming survival that serves as a sequel to the excellent The Bonfire: Forsaken Lands. There's no specific release date available yet but we do know that it will come to iOS before Android.

Like the original, The Bonfire 2 will be a survival game with resource management and clicker elements. However, the developer's have made several changes to the sequel to give players more autonomy over their settlements.

In the first game, players had to work with a static settlement where the buildings were in set positions and they had to work with this. In The Bonfire 2, they'll have complete control over where they place their buildings. The developer's say this will allow them to create more optimal resource chains such as placing the blacksmith close to an iron mine. This will give the workers less distance to travel so they'll be able to gather and deliver the resources much quicker.

There will also now be a world map that is randomly generated. Players can send ships to explore the map in the hopes of discovering dungeons, mysterious ruins or even trading cities. This was all done automatically in the first game so this time around you'll have much more agency over this part of the game.

There's also going to be a shift in perspective. Instead of a side-scrolling camera angle, Uncharted Shores will let players view their settlements from an isometric point of view. As you can see from the screenshots it makes the game a lot more visually interesting.

The developer's also wanted the game to have more longevity than the original, which is probably the reason the game will have a randomly generated world map as this would make any additional playthroughs feel distinct from one another. Additionally, though the game itself will just take longer to complete, around 10 hours instead of 3.

The Bonfire 2: Uncharted Shores will head to iOS and Android at some point, arriving on the App Store first. It will be a premium game though no details on price are available at the moment.
Check out our news section to discover the latest, and greatest, games.Tomato Clinic

If hexagonal battlefields send you in a tizzy then you'll want to sit down and fan yourself as I show you Tales of a Viking: Episode One.

It's described as a "small-scale turn-based strategy game with RPG elements." And, yes, you play as a little viking.

In fact, you control a party of three, fighting back foes and stealing loot from chests. Levels are randomly generated so you'll get a new challenge each time.

There are also boss fights mixed in with the regular levels and it's said you'll need to figure out a proper team-based strategy to beat those.

Tales of a Viking seems to be the kind of game that's ample for playing in short bursts. You could have a go, change the baby's nappy, and then sit back down for another battle. Lovely.

If you want to check it out it's available for 79p / 99c on the App Store, for free on Google Play, and £1.19 on the Windows Phone store.
